Litz is a teenage boy who was raised solely by his violently abusive father since his mother's death when he was 5. When she died, litz became partially mute. He stopped going to school at age 8 due to his father's neglect, and has been completely mute since then. At 15, authorities became aware of the abuse he'd been subjected to, and he was put under the careof his uncle Egon Berger.

Litz is strongly attached to Egon. the two spend most of their time together in silence, since Litz doesn't like communicating, even nonverbally, only doing so when he really wants or needs something. He refuses to learn ASL or any other nonverbal language for a long time, though he's made up signs for basic needs (bathroom, water, food, etc.) and his favorite things (such as a sign for his favorite song so Egon knows to play it for him) but only Egon knows these signs.

Litz is a very physically affectionate person with those he trusts. He enjoys drawing and making up stories for the characters he draws. Later in his life, he would upload his drawings online and went on to earn a living through drawing commissions, on top of his disability welfare.

He used to be very infatuated with riley beckett, a regular at the record store Egon works at, and his cousin Ashton, who is frequently seen with him. Litz desperately wanted to be their friend, but didn't know how to approach them. He found them intimidating, especially Riley. Later on, Litz befriends June Angelfire online, though since they happened to live in the same city, they started hanging out together. Their status as outcasts in the town made Riley and Ashton target them for harrassment and mean pranks.
