Liao Yuelong is Lan Huafeng's high school friend. The two were frequently ostracized by their peers and ended up always sticking together. Even after graduating, Yuelong and Huafeng remained close friends. While Huafeng went out to compete nationally and internationally in badminton tournaments, Yuelong went to university to pursue his lifelong passion of metereology.Yuelong keeps up with Huafeng's matches religiously. He travels to see him as often as he can, but the two rarely have much time to hang out.
