Lan Huafeng is an elite badminton player from China. He is first on the global ranks.
Huafeng is nothing short of a prodigy. Hailing from a poor family in Beijing, his life was turned around when his talent in badminton was noticed; he was sent to elite sports schools and received thorough training to become an athlete. After coming into the limelight as an extremely proficient player in China, Huafeng made his debut in the BWF Junior Tournaments in 2018, at age 16. He was eliminated in the semifinals. He continued competing in Junior and later regular BWF tournaments. In 2022, he placed himself in the first position of the world ranks.
In the 2023 Championships, Huafeng faced against Kazakh player Ruslan Ilyakov. With 8 points to win the second game, Ruslan suffered an injury to the knee and had to withdraw.
