June is a mute and schizophrenic shut-in who spends most of her time on her computer. She was never extremely prolixic, but stopped talking completely at age 15, when she was pulled out of school due to a significant worsening of her already existing mental problems. She lives with her parents, though they rarely interact. She knows enough sign language to get by, but refuses to use it unless absolutely necessary. Online, she communicates exclusively through cryptic video-montages that splice existing footage with recordings of herself, her house and occasionally her neighborhood and the nearby woods.

She came to know Litz, who would become her best and only friend, after he started responding to her videos with images and drawings of his own made in a style similar to hers. The two exchanged these wordless messages for a year before they became comfortable actually typing. They eventually found out they lived in the same town, and came to hang out together quite frequently.

June has a youtube channel called burninglacewing, as well as a website, called heavenfire.com. In both platforms, she uploads the videos and pictures she makes and edits. She is obsessed with fire, winged insects (namely lacewings and flies) and imagery related to heaven and angels.
